Robert P. Schröder is a candidate and one of the hundred finalists of the project, Mars One, competing for a one way ticket to Mars. The organization is a not-for-profit foundation that promises to establish permanent human life on Mars.

The photo series posed questions of migration, life and abandonment. An attempt to illustrate Roberts presence and void, as outdistanced life sources like ocean’s water on earth, minerals and salt crystals are left behind on the surface of Mars.

This aesthetic was obtained by different salt crystallization on the photographs.

This project was published in the sixth issue of HANT – Magazin für Fotografie.
